Plastic Beaches – a creative way to approach cleaning up our beaches.

This is one of the nicest things I’ve seen in a while.  It’s a clever way to try and incentivise people to pick up litter on our beaches.  It’s called Plastic Beaches and it asks people to make sculptures out of the rubbish they find, take a photo, submit it to the site and throw the rubbish away/recycle it afterwards.  You get to be creative, clean up a beach, be part of a movement and just feel good about life, the universe and everything.  I maintain that you should always leave the beach with more rubbish than you brought.  Instead of grumbling (as I tend to do) and moaning about how people litter, it can be an exercise in art, a game, a competition, an outlet.

This is my favourite one:

Please go to the website, check it out.  It’s created by a guy called Angus Whitty.
