Project co-coordinator position available at Sustainable Energy Africa

Sustainable Energy Africa is a small, well established public benefit organisation involved with energy and sustainable development. 

 

We would like to employ a suitable graduate in an energy, engineering, environment, urban planning or related field

 

 

The candidate will be employed at project co-coordinator level. We are looking for someone with the following:

 

  • A four year degree in energy, engineering, environmental, urban planning or a related field  
  • Strong interest in sustainable development
  • Some relevant work experience
  • Good spoken & written communication ability
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to produce quality outputs within deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and writing skills

Flexibility is important, as the work can include technical and non-technical aspects of sustainable energy, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, capacity building activities, urban energy strategies, regulation/policy development, sustainable building, transport issues, cleaner production, and advocacy and lobbying.  Much of the work Sustainable Energy Africa is currently involved in is around energy and energy related issues in South African cities and provinces.

 

The project coordinator will undertake research, technical implementation work, information development, training and general capacity building activities, logistical and communication support to at least 2 projects

 

We are offering a ‘cost to company package’ of between R175 000 to R270 000 p/a depending on qualifications, experience and ability.  In addition a 13th cheque is paid, depending on organizational performance.

 

This is a new full-time position, based in Cape Town.
